/start rant Seriously, why is people comparing Final Fantasy with Shin megami tensei games!? Oi, don't de-grade SMT. Not only that, that person is comparing it when he only saw some videos of Persona 3, and not play the game. And he's taking Persona 3 to judge the whole SMT series, WOW. I can say FF games are pretty meh. They rely on the graphics to attract people to buy their games. Yes, I can judge FF. I played FF 3,4,10,10-2,12,7 DOC. (that's 6 FF games)
People will defend FF, saying I never played 7,8,9 before. (the most popular in the series) But I would say the franchise can't be relying on those 3 at all times. Their new games should be able to draw in people like those 3. So if their new games can't really draw people into the fandom, it simply means it's a FAILURE.
And FF games are totally different from SMT games. It's like comparing Miley Cyrus with Obama! Because this two are really, really, different types of games. /end rant
